Umango Extract Embedded App For Kyocera Devices

The Umango Extract embedded app for Kyocera devices can be used with Umango 20 or later. The only limitation is that the Umango Extract embedded app does not support Umango authentication at the panel. However, device authentication using a third party authentication app (eg. PaperCut) or Kyocera native authentication is support.

To support Umango versions 20+, the default ports need to be updated prior to any jobs being deployed to the device:

  1. If Umango Extract (server) is installed, it should be uninstalled. Umango Extract and Umango 20+ cannot co-exist on the same server when using the Kyocera embedded app.
  2. For Umango 20 or 21 the default ports are changed/added within the registry key:
    Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Umango
For Umango 23+ the default ports are changed/added using the dashboard configuration UI. Refer to documentation for details on using the dashboard configuration screen.
  3. Add/change the service port with the following values:
    Setting: WebServicePort Value: 55580
    Setting: FileServerPort Value: 55521
  4. Once the above settings have been added/changed, restart the Umango Windows Service.
  5. Install the Kyocera app to the device(s) using the .pkg file available from the Umango portal.
  6. Add the device(s) as a job source within any required Umango jobs.
  7. Once the jobs are saved, they will be available for use within the embedded app on the device(s).

We do plan to release a dedicated Umango 20+ app to support Kyocera devices. Until this is available, the above workaround is recommended.
